•Snap a pic, choose a filter, write a caption, and you’re done.... Or you think you’re done until you’ve realized that your caption is what needed the filter. Do y’all see where I’m coming from? So let’s talk FILTERS. Transparency and “being real” with people is all the rage. I love being transparent and real, but it is VERY important to me to filter what I post and when. I choose to NOT post some personal issues or problems that I’m working through or where I am at an exact moment. We have control over our mouth and mind filters. • God will place a particular thing on my heart to post, and I will post it the majority of the time. The other times I am trying to FILTER GOD. Hmm. Interesting thought, isn’t it? “Hey, go talk to that kid over there.” No, I’m good. “Invite them to church.” No, they will think I’m weird and too outgoing. “Ask them if you can pray for them.” Sorry, but that is too outside my comfort zone, Lord. That’s a little crazy for me. “Help the lady with that bag at the grocery store.” I’m busy and have an appointment to make it to.😔 I’ve done this. I’ve filtered God, and it saddens me how I passed up opportunities to reach out to people and love them. But, God’s grace is sufficient. I’m so happy He doesn’t hold it against me, but of course, I regret all that I didn’t do for Him. • In your daily life, pay attention to the filters you’re placing on God. •Just keep growing, growing, growing. 🎶 You can’t always tell when you are growing. It could be something that you’re going through that’s insanely difficult like heart break, a loss in the family, or sickness. It could be financial problems, school, or marital issues. God can use the hard times to help us grow. Plants don’t continue growing without someone watering it and placing it in the sun regularly. We need to be placed in the SON and watered by the Word regularly too, right (even when stuff isn’t going our way)? • Do y’all see in my notes how it says, “feed my sheep?” Sometimes, we become all-consumed with ourselves seeking improvement in our daily lives. I will admit that lately, I have been this way. Gimme ALL the books on successful ways of thinking and being a great leader. I truly enjoy reading those types of books and I’m not sure where that content obsession has come from... The content isn’t bad. But it isn’t GOOD when I’m so all-about-me and trying to be “better.” #type1probs Maybe you’ve also forgotten about how you can be a blessing to others by showing them Christ, by leading them to His Word, and by loving them for WHO they are right where they are. Our society is literally obsessed with the idea that YOU are most important and YOU need to do what’s right for YOU. But what about other people? What about feeding God’s sheep? Let God do the watering after you plant the seed. Put love into action, and look out for others. When you take your eyes off of yourself, and lift them up and around...you’ll be amazed at what happens. 🌷 PS: Idek how THIS happened. •I have said before that I’m not too fond of a crazy amount of tabs and stuff sticking out of my Bible, but I’m playing with the idea of adding tabs just to mark each book of the Bible. The washi tape is helping me flip to different books more quickly, but it isn’t as efficient as I would like it to be. I am still looking for a particular place during a sermon when my preacher starts reading it before I’m there, and I freak out! 😅 Do y’all have any recs on cute Bible tabs? •The beauty of Ruth is that there is a perfect display of Jesus’ love for us, how a husband and wife should love each other, characteristics to look for in anyone you are interested in dating to marry, and captivating messages. I focused on the characteristics of Ruth and Boaz. Now, I’m going back again and adding the symbolism of Jesus loving us.
